Design that has a job to do

I've spent my career in places where design isn't decoration, it's a tool. At the Texas Division of Emergency Management I'm the agency's lead graphic designer. When the state needs to say something urgent, I'm part of making sure it lands, and lands fast.

What I care about most is building things that work beyond me: scalable templates, clear guidelines, and brand systems people can use and trust. I brought TDEM and its family of programs under one look, and I lead a small team of designers, student workers, and contractors who keep that work moving.

Every single day brings something new. You might find me crafting high-level executive presentations for state leadership, designing game day collateral for One Pill Kills, or establishing brand guides for the Texas Statewide Peer Support Network. When disasters hit, I pivot to rapid-turnaround public safety graphics where time is of the essence. On top of that, I direct the visual identity for the Texas Emergency Management Conference.

Outside the layout grid, I handle the whole media toolkit: press photography, video production, motion graphics, and social content. Earlier in my career, I spent six years as lead designer for Texas A&M University-Central Texas, modernizing its visual guidelines and executing the university's first bilingual campaign. Those years taught me how to collaborate across teams and build lasting systems that keep running long after launch.

TL;DRI lead visually, work collaboratively, and deliver under pressure. The work day might end at 5, but the mission never stops.
